While we look towards the goal of being net-zero by 2050, the Ontario Government is making recent strategic investments in EV production, battery gigafactories and green steel, creating the conditions for a powerful resurgence in Ontario’s manufacturing sector. Addressing these challenges will require a range of solutions including a critical tool for delivering generation at large capacity and an internationally-competitive cost: nuclear. To meet climate targets and ensure that our economy is competitive globally, Ontario will need to double our electricity generation capacity by 2050.
